Jean-Charles Carré

Jean-Charles Carré is a senior executive and entrepreneur in the global music and entertainment industry, with more than two decades of experience at the highest international level. He is best known as the longtime business partner and manager of David Guetta, a world-renowned DJ and producer, with whom he has collaborated continuously for over 24 years. As a principal architect of Guetta’s international career, Mr. Carré has played a central role in strategic planning, business development, brand expansion, and long-term career management. His responsibilities have included overseeing global strategy, recording and publishing negotiations, brand partnerships, corporate structuring, and the creation and management of music-related companies operating across multiple jurisdictions. In 2001, Mr. Carré and David Guetta co-founded Gum Prod in Paris, France, an independent music label that produced and released the first three studio albums of David Guetta. These early projects laid the foundation for Guetta’s international breakthrough and established Gum Prod as a commercially successful and influential entity in the European electronic music market. In 2010, Mr. Carré co-founded What A Music Ltd. in London, United Kingdom, a record label and rights-holding company closely associated with David Guetta’s catalog and future releases. In this capacity, he has been directly involved in negotiating and executing major international agreements, including a landmark, career-spanning partnership with Warner Music Group in 2021. This transaction secured both Guetta’s existing catalog and future recordings, with a total deal value reported in excess of USD 100 million. Collectively, the companies co-founded and managed by Mr. Carré have achieved substantial commercial success, with cumulative sales exceeding 10 million albums and 65 million singles worldwide, and more than 50 billion global streams across major digital platforms. These activities have generated significant revenues, sustained long-term employment, and contributed meaningfully to the global music economy. The long-standing professional partnership between Mr. Carré and David Guetta has resulted in numerous industry accolades, including two Grammy Awards, one American Music Award, six Electronic Dance Music Awards, and one Billboard Music Award. David Guetta has also been ranked No. 1 DJ worldwide multiple times by DJ Mag, including in 2011, 2020, 2021, 2023, and 2025.
