Riccardo Giovanelli
Head of R&D, MHA (IT)
Riccardo Giovanelli is the Head of R&D at MHA srl, the management, publishing, and innovation hub founded by Mathame. He leads the technological strategy across the group’s creative and editorial divisions.
An Archaeologist by training with a PhD in Robotics and AI from the Italian Institute of Technology (IIT), Riccardo approaches data as a modern site of excavation. Inspired by Terry Pratchett’s insight that “It’s still magic even if you know how it’s done,” he engineered MHA’s custom RAG (Retrieval-Augmented Generation) architecture. This proprietary system enables the ethically-constrained generation of visuals and creative content—such as the Neology project—transforming complex machine learning into a precise tool for storytelling while safeguarding the integrity of the artistic "source code."
