Pia Micallef

Co-Founder, MeToo Music (MT)

Pia Micallef is a feminist activist, policy professional and co-founder of MeToo Music / #ForTheMusic, an initiative working to combat sexual harassment and assault in electronic music and nightlife. Through campaigns, policy work, education and industry partnerships, she has helps develop practical tools to make clubs, festivals and music spaces safer, particularly for women and gender minorities. She previously worked as a Senior Policy Advisor at the European Parliament, where she specialised in equality and civil liberties. During her time in Brussels, she also co-founded MeTooEP, the movement that brought attention to sexual harassment and abuse within the European Parliament and created institutional reform and greater protections for staff. Her work focuses on translating safeguarding principles into real-world settings, including nightlife settings. This includes the development of artist conduct riders, consent messaging, welfare steward programmes and venue guidance for promoters and organisers. She has also worked on campaigns highlighting survivor experiences, bystander intervention and accountability within club culture. Alongside her work in music and activism, Pia has a background in public policy, communications and legislation, bringing experience in governance, equality and institutional reform into conversations around nightlife safety and accountability.
