Laura Newton

Laura is Operations Director of the Music Industry Therapist Collective CIC. MITC is a non-profit international collective of mental health professionals all of whom held professional careers in music prior to retraining. MITC offers consultation for tours, labels and music industry orgs, designing bespoke services to suit all needs. The team also programmes panels at music industry conferences worldwide. But mainly, what they do is provide high quality support to anyone in the industry who feels like they could use their help. Laura’s career in music began back in 2004. She worked across artist management to venue rep to press, before eventually ending up on tour for two years, working as the assistant tour manager on a couple of global tours. From there, she became an assistant agent at the booking agency ITB, then graduated to agent and spent seven years looking after touring artists at CAA. At MITC, Laura oversees the running of the Collective and is forever in pursuit of new ways to optimise mental health support for the industry.
