Laszlo Papp

László Papp is a key figure in Budapest’s contemporary cultural scene — a founder, curator, and creative director shaping the intersection of music, art, and community. He is the co-founder of NVC, INOTA Festival, and Turbina Cultural Center, as well as a driving force behind Telekom Electronic Beats in Hungary. Over the past two decades, his work has played a defining role in introducing forward-thinking international and local cultural movements to the region. As an artist, he performs globally as Subotage, touring from Europe to South America, while his genre-fluid project Surfalone explores a more eclectic, instrumental approach to electronic music. Through his diverse projects — spanning venues, festivals, media platforms, and gastronomy — Papp builds independent cultural ecosystems that connect emerging talent with global audiences, positioning Budapest as a vital hub in the international creative landscape.
