Deron Delgado
VP, Operations, Empire Dance/Dirtybird (US)
Deron Delgado is a veteran music industry executive with over two decades of experience spanning digital innovation, independent label strategy, and global operations. He currently serves as Vice President of Operations at EMPIRE Dance, where he is architecting a new dance music division within one of the largest independent distributors in the world — working alongside artists including The Martinez Brothers, Aluna, Bebe Rexha, Walker & Royce, VNSSA, Francis Mercier, Soul Clap, and Paul Oakenfold to redefine what independent infrastructure looks like for electronic music at scale. Simultaneously, he continues to serve as Label Manager at Dirtybird Records, one of the most decorated independent labels in electronic music history.
Under Delgado's stewardship, Dirtybird has earned Mixmag's Label of the Decade, was named a Top 5 Independent Dance Label by Billboard, and received DJ Mag's Best Label in North America. He oversees recordings, publishing, and talent buying for flagship properties including Dirtybird Campout and the iconic BBQ series.
Delgado's career in digital music predates the streaming era entirely. In 2004, he helped launch Stompy.com, one of the world's first digital download stores, where he negotiated the acquisition of a catalog exceeding one million products and helped launch the careers of hundreds of emerging producers. He went on to lead Paradise Americas, the US division of Berlin-based Paradise Entertainment & Distribution, expanding operations across hundreds of labels and content providers in more than 36 countries.
A recognized thought leader in the business of dance music, Delgado was named a 2026 Billboard Dance Power Player and is a Clio Award recipient. He is a regular speaker at Amsterdam Dance Event, moderated at Winter Music Conference, delivered keynotes at UC Berkeley and ICON Collective, and served as an official representative for the U.S. Copyright Office's Congressional Roundtable. He is a trusted voice on the economics of independent music, the evolution of electronic music as a global business, and the operational frameworks that allow artist-driven labels to compete at the highest level.
