An influential leader in the music industry, Rawan serves as the MENA Regional Director for the International Federation of the Phonographic Industry (IFPI). In this role, she champions the value of recorded music, drives commercial growth, and advocates for the rights of record producers through helping to build a sustainable and vibrant music ecosystem across the region.
With a background in law, she previously headed the Legal, Copyright, and International department at the Emirates Publishers Association, where she strengthened the UAE’s copyright framework and built key relationships with government entities, industry stakeholders, and international organizations within the creative industry. Her work led to the establishment of ERRA (The Emirates Reprographic Rights Management Association), the region’s first copyright collective management organization, and more recently EMRA (The Emirates Music Rights Association), a landmark initiative for music rights in the region.
