Sur Back

Artist (USA)

SUR BACK is the moniker of NYC-based producer, songwriter, and artist Caroline Sans. Once described as “breakbeat baroque pop meets New Wave chanson,” her production ranges from experimental pop and rave-ready dance to fuzzy alternative rock. With common motifs of sampled breaks and orchestral strings, her output aims to be equal parts whimsical and arresting. Caroline is currently exploring collaborations, and her production and songwriting work includes Uffie, Daya, The Snuts, Katy B, Clarence Coffee, Jr., ISOxo, The Blessed Madonna, Shygirl, Venbee, Justin Tranter, Kimbra, Oscar Scheller, MJ Nebreda, Rose Gray, Mel C of the Spice Girls, and more. She recently contributed to ISOxo's track "how2fly", which is the highest streaming track on his latest album kidsgonemad!, as well as the TSHA track “Girls,” which Caroline co-wrote with the artist Rose Gray. Current release is her work on Rose Gray’s debut album Louder, Please (Jan 2025), of which she produced and co-wrote single “Wet & Wild,” “Party People” with Sega Bodega, and more across the record.
