Visiting the United Arab Emirates - Local Customs and Traditions
Over 22 million people visit the UAE annually; most visits are trouble-free. As with visiting any foreign destination, tourists should consider a few things. Everyone is welcome in the UAE, and visitors are not required to disclose personal information when entering the country. The UAE values mutual respect, tolerance, and coexistence. Visitors should familiarise themselves with local culture and traditions.
Alcohol is available in Dubai, and anyone over the age of 21 can drink alcohol at licensed venues. However, it's important to note that there is a zero-tolerance policy for drunken behaviour, drink-driving, and drugs. Everyone is expected to be responsible.
If you have specific questions on local customs and traditions, email IMS Dubai's dedicated Respect, Tolerance, and Inclusion Lead at dubai@internationalmusicsummit.com.
