IMS today announced its fifth and final pairing for its IMS Engage event in Los Angeles, California on April 15th: superstar DJ and producer Kaskade and three time Grammy-winning producer and the man behind the albums of Madonna and The Killers, Stuart Price. The two will participate in an unmoderated conversation about dance music’s place in entertainment and popular culture, as part of the IMS Engage event.
Kaskade and Price join the additional IMS Engage pairings of Sebastian Ingrosso and legendary musician and entertainment mogul Quincy Jones, techno rebel Seth Troxler and hip-hop legend Chuck D, industry icon Lyor Cohen and up and coming manager and mastermind behind Zhu and Krewella, Jake Udell, and nightclub owners Jason Strauss and David Grutman.
“Stuart Price is one of those rare artists who is as interesting as he is talented. His approach to the music business has always had a unique integrity and I’ve looked up to him for years. I’m very much looking forward to talking to him about his experience and his vision for the future of music.” – Kaskade
Ryan Raddon, better known to his fans as Kaskade, is one of dance music’s most beloved performers. A veteran mainstay of the scene -the critically acclaimed It’s You, It’s Me, Kaskade’s first album, was released in 2003. Kaskade has since produced 11 albums, countless hits, and headlined the world’s largest festivals time and time again. As much a catalyst for the EDM global explosion as anyone, Kaskade tracks such as ‘Eyes’, ‘Room For Happiness’, ‘4AM’, ‘I Remember’ (with deadmau5), ‘Angel On My Shoulder’, ‘Move For Me’, ‘Atmosphere’ and a dozen others have defined a generation of dance music fandom. Kaskade has won DJ Times ‘Best American DJ’ poll twice, in 2011 and 2013, and ranked #30 on DJ Mag’s annual ‘Top 100 DJs’ poll. In December 2013, Kaskade was nominated for two Grammy Awards: the song ‘Atmosphere’ for Best Dance Recording and the album Atmosphere for Best Dance/Electronica Album. Outside of official rewards and accolades, Kaskade is widely considered to be one of the most integral players and innovators in the American electronic music revival.
Stuart Price is a three time Grammy-winning British producer and musician known for his work with New Order, Madonna, The Killers, Scissor Sisters, Example, Missy Elliott, and Pet Shop Boys . He has also produced his own originals and remixes under the aliases Les Rythmes Digitales, Jacques Lu Cont, Thin White Duke, Zoot Woman and Man With Guitar. Price is best known for his work with Madonna, primarily on her Grammy-winning tenth studio album, Confessions on the Dance Floor. He has also contributed to the success of The Killers, having first remixed the band’s smash hit, ‘Mr. Brightside’. Price subsequently remixed ‘When We Were Young’ to be included as a bonus track for The Killers’ sophomore album, Sam’s Town, and after that went on to fully produce the band’s third album Day & Age. A successful artist in his own right, Price’s Essential Mix in 2012 as Jacques Lu Cont was one of the most critically acclaimed that year, as was his 2012 Coachella performance. So far in 2015 Price has produced albums and tracks for Everything Everything, Hurts, Take That and Steve Angello.
