The full list of guest speakers includes a keynote interview with Paul Oakenfold, a pioneer of the electronic sound in the Western world and one of the first DJs to ever perform in China,. In a coup for IMS China, the President of Entertainment at Fosun Group, Maggie Huang, will talk about how and why they are investing heavily into the entertainment and nightlife culture of China. The group recently acquired Cirque du Soleil. Also in attendance, artist manager for STORM Festival headliners Above & Beyond James Grant and many more from Beatport, Spinnin Records, AM Only and others. IMS China provides the unique platform of discussion between these international professionals and their local Chinese counterparts. Founder and CEO of A2Live and STORM Festival Eric Zho leads the charge, alongside other notable promoters in the country such as Irene Yang, Co-founder of Midi Shanghai, Jason Swamy, promoter of DWYL in Hong Kong, CEO of Monster Cable in China Noel Lee, and Brazilian Japanese Hong Kong transplant and artist, Gaby Endo.

IMS China has also released a finalized schedule of topics to be discussed. China’s enigmatic landscape provides a wealth of subjects worth discussing including the Great Firewall of China, a Promoter Panel, as well as a panel discussing the potential and possibilities of Brands in China. IMS will also present a Business Report tailored especially for the promising electronic music industry in China.

“Awakening the Dragon” is IMS China’s inaugural theme; an appropriate celebration of our host country’s colorful culture and vast realm of opportunity. The global electronic industry comes together with IMS in effort to connect and explore China’s growing music industry.

IMS co-founder Ben Turner states: “IMS is hugely excited to bring our electronic music platform to China for a special event in-conjunction with the Storm Festival. IMS has been designed to share knowledge and inspire delegates with debates and keynotes about the future of electronic music. China emerged as a huge point of interest during IMS Asia-Pacific and it became clear to us that it warranted its own discussion. And here we are with a scheduled day of fascinating insight into the region for those inside and outside of the region.”
