He scored the top buzz records of 2013 and 2014 Miami Music Conference with his singles On & On and Tripi respectively. ‘Tripi’ was the inaugural record on Seth Troxler’s new label Play It Say It, garnering support from all sides of the industry. In 2015 Sharam unleashed 2 monster singles at the Miami Music Week— Heavi, Tripi’s follow-up, released on his own Yoshitoshi Recordings, and August House, a Spinnin’ Deep single whose video has garnered over nine hundred thousand views on YouTube. Sharam will follow August House with two more singles for the label this year, August Dub and October House, with the October Dub to follow.
Following an eight year hiatus, Sharam joined Dubfire once again at Miami Music Week 2015 as the legendary duo Deep Dish. The reunion set the industry abuzz with select shows and talk of an upcoming album.

Richie has 26 years experience in the music industry. Beginning as a fresh 18 year old putting on events and bussing in nightclubs, becoming Director of Dance at Mushroom Records (MDS) for four years from the age of 19, to touring some of the biggest names in dance music, Richie has experienced the industry from all spectrums.
At Mushroom he was responsible for bringing labels such as Warp Records, R&S, Harthouse, Strictly Rhythm, Nervous, XL Recordings, React etc… to Australia as well as licensing artist and albums from Leftfield, Orbital, Underworld, The Prodigy, Moby and the like.
At the 1988-1992 electronic music explosion, Richie was at the thick of it in Australia. He DJ’d for 15 years across Australasia and Europe. His famous Hardware organisation ran some of Melbourne’s first raves bringing the worlds biggest artists to Australia, had two record stores and distribution and helped run Australia’s first national electronic Music Festival called Apollo. From there he began Two Tribes Events (Australia’s first award winning electronic music festival) for 10 years then finished that to setup Stereosonic, Australia’s last remaining major dance festival.
This hard work and passion was supported by Richie being awarded in 2011, the industry-voted inthemix.com.au Award for Outstanding Contribution to Dance Music in Australia.
After a 16 month break, he now works for SFX Entertainment setting up their Asia office and plan, as well as working for Beatport on their LIVE streaming consumer platform in LIVE video and event integration.

Simon Napier-Bell has been a film composer, songwriter, record producer, and author, but most of all he is known for being a rock manager. Amongst the artists he’s managed are The Yardbirds, Marc Bolan, T Rex, Japan, Asia, CC Catch, Ultravox, Candi Staton, Boney M, and Wham!
In the 60s he co-wrote the song You Don’t Have To Say You Love Me which went to number one sung by Dusty Springfield and was also covered in the early 70s by Elvis Presley.
He has written four best-selling books about the music industry: ‘You Don’t Have To Say You Love Me’, about the music business in the 60s; ‘Black Vinyl White Powder’, a history of the British music industry; and ‘I’m Coming To Take You To Lunch’, about taking Wham! to Communist China in the 80s, the first Western pop or rock group ever to play there. His latest book, ‘Ta-Ra-Ra-Boom-De-Ay’, is a history of the business of popular music from its first beginnings in 1710 until today, published in August 2014 by Unbound Books.
These days he is a director of Papa Entertainments PLC, which produces ‘Raiding the Rock Vault’, the best-rated music show in Las Vegas, and of Snap-B Music, a company that provides consultancy to top music industry professionals. DJ Tennis born in the 70’s and raised between New Jersey, Sicily and Parma in a family who paid just a passing attention to music. No relatives played any musical instruments, nor were there any around the home – music was never given any special amount of love in the Romano household. But despite this, and perhaps as a direct result of this, Romano’s creative and artistic attitude has always centred around music: singing, creating and collecting weird and noisy musical instruments at every turn.
In 1988 before embarking on computer science studies he was already playing and singing in college bands and had an indie rock radio show on a local radio station in Palermo.
Recording with bands, organising events and DJing at the local tennis club where he used to play semi-professionally (his DJ moniker comes from his passion for the sport) became his way to support the costs of his studies, though when he graduated he never imagined he would turn that hobby into his fully-fledged career. Whilst starting out as a DJ he began focusing on promoting new underground music in his country, founding and developing some of the most important Italian underground musical events such as the Elita festival in Milan and the Dissonanze festival in Rome – at the same time creating forward-thinking new promotional concepts around the Italian clubbing scene.
In the early 90s Romano also started producing music for theatre, movie soundtracks and TV commercials, his production skills always taking inspiration from the psychedelic, dark and melancholic sounds of the 60’s, thru to early 2000’s IDM. The range of influences paint a picture of his musical worldview: The Beach Boys, The Who, Talk Talk, Ultravox, XTC, Fugazi, June of 44, Suicide, Radiohead, Godspeed You Black Emperor!, Aphex Twin, Boards of Canada and Plastikman – into every musical project he poured elements, sounds & feelings from all of these artists and many more.
In 2010, after growing tired of the the more overtly generic output of the contemporary scene he decided to collect all of his musical works and, along with Thugfucker’s Greg Oreck, started a new techno and pop label called Life and Death. The name of the label has a specific meaning, inspired by the socratic method of the maieutic process to turn ‘dead’ elements into a new life, and referring to the hypnotic power of music used in the mesmeric processes for brain therapy. Life And Death was alive.
Romano bases himself in Berlin where he also shares the label experience and a studio with the innovative deep electronic duo Tale of Us, whilst he working hard to create a crew of young and inspired musicians like Clockwork and Esperanza, amongst others. On top of all of this he still maintains his main job is still being a Promoter and a Booking agent in 2012. He may go by the name Tennis but he continues to be a hugely talented all-rounder.

Rahul Kukreja is a familiar name back home in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia mainly because he is the lead guitarist for one of Malaysia’s most popular rock bands, One Buck Short (or OBS as they are affectionately known as). Having started the band back in college, OBS has moved from its underground roots to being regarded as the region’s Top Rock/Live Act. He is also one of the co-founders and partners of The Livescape Group of companies which produces IT’S THE SHIP, Electric Run, A State of Trance (ASOT), Rockaway Festival, and After Dark Social Club (ADSC). Livescape has a 360-degree approach to conceiving, marketing and executing events. They have an in-house marketing, execution, creative, production, logistics, and artist management team to ensure that they put on an experience that people will not only remember but also talk about. Rahul acts as Livescape’s Director of Live Events & Entertainment where he oversees artist/show bookings and productions for all of the group’s events and sources out future and potential business partnerships for the company as well as managing itineraries and executions for Livescape events and festivals. Rahul also has very good working relationships with various artist management and booking agencies and is the man with the eye for spotting talent for Livescape shows. Rahul is also quite the entrepreneur, venturing into various different businesses. Aside from One Buck Short and The Livescape Group, he is a partner in “All Access Distribution”, an apparel company that distributes street wear brand, OBEY, and Macbeth Footwear in Malaysia.

Credited with changing the aesthetic face of dance music culture in Australia, Frank Cotela has worked behind the scenes on some of the country’s most successful and prolific EDM brands for over 30 years.
After obtaining a degree in electronic engineering in digital electronics and working in recording studios in the early 80s, Cotela’s natural aptitude for design and interest in electronics and culture (alongside the introduction computer graphics) moved him in the direction of design where he went on to become a creative director in Australia’s leading advertising houses, culminating in the establishment of his own creative studio: FCD – a successful specialist design studio aimed at music and fashion.
In 2000 he joined forces with promoters Peter Raff & Dror Erez to create “ONELOVE”, where his marketing vision helped forge the nation’s highest profile dance brand of the decade. In 2004 the partnership created ONELOVE Recordings and the music label quickly established itself as a supporter of both local and international emerging talent.

Sabrina Ooi is a DJ and entrepreneur at the crossroads of music, innovation and branding. Born and bred in Singapore, Sabrina is best known in the arts and entertainment scene as a creative force connecting local artistes to wider audiences – since the tender age of 16, with the “Rock For Good” concert in 2006, featuring prominent Singaporean bands Electrico and The Suns.
As a DJ, Sabrina has held residencies in nightclubs Fenix Room and Dream (formerly Ministry of Sound), and honed her craft at 1-Altitude, the world’s highest alfresco nightspot. She has also played to audiences around the region and beyond, including Manila, Madrid and Melbourne. Sabrina constantly pushes the boundaries with every set, fusing together everything from indie rock anthems to hip-hop to the well-loved EDM. Beyond being a music tastemaker and performer, Sabrina is also highly interested in the business perspective of the music industry, as expressed in a bird’s eye view dissertation on Singapore’s electronic music scene that was recently published.
Beyond music, Sabrina is deeply involved with the technology and startup scene in Singapore, where she connects them with the business community – in which she is a recognised branding and marketing expert.

Chris Ho (from Singapore) is a familiar name on radio with years and years of experience behind him; though he’d rather not put a number to the years for the sake of protecting seniority without prejudice.
He started out at Rediffusion, the wired radio station, where a show he hosted won him the Paters Award for Most Outstanding Asia-Pacific Radio Personality from the Australasian Broadcasting Arts & Sciences in 1987. He had also made a name for himself as a pioneer in the local scene programming punk, New Wave and alternative rock music on the airwave.
The Straits Times also ran a regular column of his called Pop Life where he introduced cutting-edge music as a music columnist. The column lasted 25 years.
In the 1990s, he was heard on 98.7FM hosting the groundbreaking music show Hip Parade: The Now Sound Of The Future, the first locally produced show on nu-groove/future beat music.
Since then, he’s moved on to Lush 99.5FM where he’s currently heard hosting the weekly show Clubscape.
Despite the FM music references there, the scope of Chris’s interest is much wider. On an Internet radio-station Sonar (2009 – 2012), he presented black metal music as DJ Mentor. His other life-long interests include singer-songwriter music, country-folk, dark wave and classic soul.

Chris started his own club night Cyber-Tech back in the 1990s when techno was not a dirty word. He followed that up with Future Soul soon after. Known for an eclectic touch (anything from soul to funk to rock to techno to house), he became the resident deejay at Soundbar at The Liquid Room, Singapore’s first chill-out bar, when the venue opened its doors in 2000. He has since played at some of Singapore’s best-known venues: Phuture (Sessions Series), Zouk (Red Bull Music Academy Party 2006; Heineken Green Room presents Chicks On Speed), The Balcony at The Hereen, Loof, Muse, Pure in Ministry Of Sound, DXO (for AlterNation, opening for Alec Empire), Café del Mar at Sentosa (opening for Alex Barck of Jazzanova), House in Dempsey, The Butter Factory’s Art-Bar, New Asia Bar (opening for Stefano Willow) and The Polo Club. He was also a resident deejay at km8 in Sentosa (Conde Nest named the beach bar one of the best new clubs of 2006).
He was also a resident for Dark Friday, Singapore’s only goth club-night. It was at Dark Friday that he opened for DJ Eskil Simonnson, also of the ‘future pop’ Swedish band Covenant. Chris had manned the decks for various Bulgari and Philip Stein fashion events, Johnny Walker Classic private functions, Nokia Fashion Week 2005, Agnes b.’s punk anniversary party 2014 and Elle’s magazine’s anniversaries in 2013 and 2014. He was given the Individuality Award at the inaugural Streetstyle Awards 2001 and the Special Award in the Motorola Streetstyle Awards 2007.
In Oct 2006, he was the guest DJ at Insomnia in Berlin, Germany for the opening party of a film festival there. Alex Murray-Leslie of the electro-punk band Chicks On Speed called him as “a great DJ”. X’ Ho, by the way, is his persona as musician/artist, author and underground filmmaker.

In 2015, after a few months of sharing ideas and contacts, Jack was appointed Business Development Manager for Mixmag. after speaking regularly with Jerry Perkins, CEO, about how best to progress their brand and activities in native advertising and music media.
He also concurrently set up an independent record label, One Two Many with long suffering friend Alex Sheridan. Sonny Moore found club and mainstream stardom beginning in 2008, when he swapped his gig as the frontman in post-hardcore band From First to Last for the dancefloor-oriented project Skrillex. He originally used the name for live DJ sets, but in 2009 the project moved into the studio with Skrillex remixing the likes of Lady Gaga (“Bad Romance”) and Snoop Dogg (“Sensual Seduction”). In 2010, the self-released digital download EP My Name Is Skrillex appeared, combining the Benny Benassi and Deadmau5 styles of electro with the same type of over-the-top samples and giant noise of electronica acts like the Chemical Brothers and Fatboy Slim.
Moore signed to Deadmau5’s Mau5trap label in 2010, where he released his second EP, Scary Monsters & Nice Sprites, along with the club hit “Kill Everybody.” If topping the club charts didn’t prove the producer had arrived, a trio of Grammy Awards in 2011 helped considerably, including Best Dance/Electronica Album for Scary Monsters and Best Dance Recording for the title track. He also made an appearance on the revived Beavis & Butthead television series, and collaborated with the surviving members of the Doors on a single called “Breakin’ a Sweat.” The recording of the track was captured in the documentary film RE:GENERATION, while the song itself landed on Skrillex’s Bangarang EP, which appeared in early 2012. The release won him two more Grammy Awards, one for the title track as Best Dance Recording and one for the EP itself as Best Dance/Electronica Album.
Most of Skrillex’s recordings, however, were forced around his busy touring schedule, which found him on every inhabited continent playing to hundreds of thousands of dance fans. Beginning his career five years ago as a self-taught 18 year-old bedroom producer in Stockholm, Sweden, Alessandro Lindblad’s trajectory to the forefront of the global dancefloor is truly incredible. Taught to play the piano as a young child, Alesso grew up on pop idols including Michael Jackson, before discovering Hip Hop via Nelly, Pharrell and Timbaland. He quickly immersed himself in as much House as he could find; a friend made him a mix CD and it was here that he discovered Daft Punk, Erick Morillo, Steve Angello, Daft Punk and Axwell. Throwing himself fully into making music at the age of 18, part of Alesso’s success is down to his diverse influences and huge appetite for life which riddle his infectious creations with an energy that is palpable. Alesso’s debut album proves the Swede won’t be limited by genre or niche. There’s soul, melody and adventure in his compositions; there’s never merely one tempo or type of terrain. “Every song I make is House at its core, but because I’ve listened to so much Hip Hop, I think you hear an element of ruggedness in my music. I like to mix it up a little bit – not keep the same beat all the time. I’m not in any way making Hip Hop music, but I’m very influenced and interested in bringing different grooves into my songs.”
The recently turned 23 year-old’s debut single with Def Jam US/Virgin EMI UK, ‘Tear The Roof Up’ is an unadulterated slice of sonic euphoria. Since creating the track in his hometown of Sweden earlier this year, ‘Tear The Roof Up’ has proven itself to be an explosive opening to Alesso’s live set. Brilliantly building from a tautly wound intro of anarchic beats into an all-out 4-to-the-floor rave smash, ‘Tear The Roof Up’ is a joyous ode to living life to the full. “I wanted to make a massive song that would literally make people want to tear off the roof,” says Alesso. “I didn’t want to just make just another ‘club song’. I wanted to create a moment in time.”
“Monstrous,” raved Zane Lowe who premiered the single on his hugely influential BBC Radio 1 show. “I didn’t make it to Coachella this year but I was streaming it like so many millions of people from around the world…I clicked on Alesso’s set and he started his set with this song. It was the most ridiculous, most unifying response from about 20,000 people streaming out of this huge aircraft hangar whilst the sun was beaming down on his face, and I was like ‘This is what songs like this are designed to do’.”

In late 2011 Murat co-founded Sydney’s best underground electronic club called the SPICE Cellar. Since opening in September 2011, the Cellar has played host to some of the world’s elite artists like Claude Von Stroke, Guy Gerber, Deetron. Moodymann and Derrick May to name a few. As well as being the major shareholder of the club, Murat is the music director and talent booker for the club and is also involved in regional talent bookings for overseas artists.
Since 2008, Murat Kilic has had a steady schedule of music being released on a variety of labels across the House and Techno genres. Starting with a succession of remixes on BEEF Records in 2008, Murat followed these up with an 2 EPs for Oliver Koletzki’s Berlin based Stil Vor Talent which helped establish his reputation beyond Australia. Since then Murat has had a number of follow up releases on Stil Vor Talent and a string of remixes racking up plays and support from the likes of Joris Voorn, Jimpster, and M.A.N.D.Y. Murat’s productions are well-defined and notable with 4 of his releases reaching the Top 20 Beatport Deep House and Indy-NuDisco charts. His next releases will continue courtesy of OFF recordings, Stil Vor Talent, Light My Fire, Reckless Republic and Circle Music.

Murat spends a lot of his time doing something he genuinely loves. As well as travelling to DJ, he maintains a healthy schedule in his home city Sydney, where he produces his music, hosts his radio show, raises a child and owns/operates the Spice Cellar lounge bar & club, as well as operating entertainment company, Reckless Republic responsible for promotions, booking, touring and record label.

Daniel Miller is the founder and chairman of Mute, launched in 1978 with his own 7” single under the name The Normal.

Born in the UK, Caralinda has worked in the international music and media industry for over 25 years, with a broad range of experience – from touring the world as a professional musician (keyboards/backing vocals) with some of pop’s biggest international names, to working inside the business in both major and independent record and publishing companies.
She has lived and worked in China for over 11 years, based in Beijing as the Senior A&R Consultant/A&R Director for Universal Music China, as well as working closely with many top local music and management companies, helping develop and promote local singers, songwriters and bands.

Jonathan is Head of Asia for Billboard, the global leader for charts, news, business and lifestyle in music. At Billboard, he oversees growth throughout Asia, and has recently driven the firm’s expansion in China, Thailand and the Philippines.
Jonathan has over 20 years of experience in the music business, with over a decade in senior leadership positions in Asia. Jonathan began his career as a music lawyer in New York, representing major recording artists, record labels and producers. He joined Lehman Brothers as a media & entertainment-sector investment banker where he worked on many of the biggest media mergers of the time, and later served as the head of media & entertainment investment banking for Asia at Oppenheimer & Co. Jonathan founded and managed a number of successful music and entertainment companies in China, including an innovative music distribution platform. He has advised and served on the board of major US and Asian music companies.
Jonathan has an MBA from Columbia University, a JD from Boston University and a BA from Washington University in St. Louis.

Ben Turner is the owner of Graphite, a music management and brand services company which specialises in the world of electronic music. Turner is the artist manager for techno and technology icon Richie Hawtin, and Rob da Bank – the creator of Bestival, Camp Bestival and the Sunday Best Recordings label. Turner made his name as co-founder of the highly influential Muzik Magazine, Muzik Awards and then creative director on DanceStar USA: The American Dance Music Awards. Turner is a co-founder with Pete Tong in the International Music Summit, an event described as “the TED of music conferences”. In 2013, he also formed the Association for Electronic Music, a not-for profit trade body to represent the genre, alongside long-serving entertainment industry lawyer Kurosh Nasseri. Its concept is to preserve, protect and promote electronic music worldwide.

Kurosh Nasseri is known for his work as a lawyer in electronic dance music: over the years he has represented Afrojack, Armand van Helden, Basto, Carl Craig, Deep Dish, Dubfire, Duck Sauce, Felix Da Housecat, Paul van Dyk, Sharam and many other artists as well as various club and festival promoters, booking agencies, independent labels, publishers, download sites, fashion brands, app developers and technology companies. The Association for Electronic Music has appointed Mark Lawrence as its first CEO. Lawrence previously spent 10 years at UK collection society PRS For Music, latterly as Director of Membership, responsible for 100,000 members worldwide.
His appointment was confirmed at a board meeting of AFEM held at the International Music Summit (IMS) in Ibiza.
Lawrence has a long association with the dance and electronic music genres. In 2012 he launched PRS’s Amplify initiative focusing on the genre, he has spoken at numerous industry events and he co-owns independent house music label Black Rock Records with DJ Steve Mac.
Lawrence began his career in retail banking before joining mechanical rights licensing agency MCPS in 2004. He was promoted to Director of Operations in 2006 before becoming Director of Corporate Planning of PRS for Music three years later. He was promoted to Director of Membership and Rights in 2010, leading a team of 120 staff serving a membership of over 100,000, ranging from major international publishers to individual songwriters.
While at PRS he launched and led Amplify, an initiative to increase membership in the dance music sector and improve the accuracy and value of royalties paid to writers in the genre. He left PRS earlier this year.
He said, “I am delighted and honoured to have been selected by Ben and Kurosh to run this organisation. AFEM has the opportunity to be something amazing – a global electronic music organisation representing everyone from labels to DJs to promoters to publishers, small or large, young or old. I am committed to turning that vision into reality.”
